The home stretch...

OH MY GOODNESS!!

Where does time go?!  It seems like just yesterday I was looking at the little stick and thinking, "Oh crap.  I guess this is really happening!  I wonder what Mark's reaction will be..."

Here's my latest pic at 38 weeks and three days:

I'll probably take a final belly shot next Monday - the last time I'll be able to do
full hair and makeup for awhile without being totally exhausted lol!

Here are some of my thoughts from this previous week...

Annoyances!

Some of you may already know this, but I am not the biggest fan of bratty and ill-behaved kids.  At Disneyland, the doctor's office, Target, restaurants, movies... it doesn't matter where we are, it just irritates me.  I'm human and I like my peace and quiet, just like anybody else :)  However, I do realize that it's often the parent's fault for allowing their little hellions to behave in such a horrible manner.

Case in point (this is probably going to turn into a rant lol): Mark and I were at my OBGYN's office for my normal checkup a couple weeks or so ago, and there were these two young boys there with their mother and grandmother.  I'd estimate the boys' ages at 2 and 4.  The mom had given the older one her phone to play Angry Birds on (I know this because the volume was turned up and was already starting to annoy me).  About twenty minutes later, she passed the phone onto the younger son so that he could play too.  The older boy got upset and was trying to grab the phone from his brother, and whining, crying, and a little bit of screaming ensued shortly after.  I'm sitting there thinking, "OK, surely the mom or grandma is going to intervene here and there will be peace once more."  Nope.  It's like these two ladies were in their own little world and had no clue what was happening with the boys.  WAKE UP!!!!  Your kids/grandkids are annoying the entire waiting room!!!!  The lobby was full of people and was already pretty noisy, but seriously, you need to control your kids and not add to the problem.  I was about 30 seconds away from smacking the older boy/mom/grandma when we finally got called back (we'd probably been waiting about an hour).  My hormones are likely a little off kilter due to me being nine months pregnant, but I'm pretty sure that I would have been irritated under normal circumstances.  Of course, it didn't help that Mark and I were sitting directly across from them.  Perhaps I wouldn't have been as annoyed if we were sitting on the opposite side of the room.  Either way, I'd like to think that if my sweet little Bailey is ever being a brat and causing everyone else to become greatly annoyed with us, I will remove her from the situation and do what's necessary!!  Parents who just ignore the situation drive me insane.  I can't stand it.

It gets worse... the SAME FAMILY was there the next week (I go at the same time each week).  The boys were still acting up and throwing fits, and, once again, the mom and grandma didn't do much to correct them.  Luckily, Mark had brought his headphones with him, so we were able to watch a couple of shows on Netflix via his smartphone, and I was able to focus on that and not solely on the irritants behind us.  We got called back after about an hour, and as we were finishing up at the counter I requested that my next appointment be changed to the morning because I COULD NOT TAKE THE CHANCE OF BEING IN THE SAME ROOM WITH THEM AGAIN!!  I'd had enough.

Rant finished!

Anxiety!

Since I'm being induced, I'll be getting pitocin which will likely make my contractions pretty intense.  Sign me up for the epidural, doc!  I just hope it doesn't wear off halfway through my crazy contractions!!  I'll be stopping my blood thinner injections the night before my induction so that they'll be out of my system (for the most part)... that way there will be less chance of me having bleeding complications during the whole labor and delivery process.  My doctor told me, however, that there's a chance I may end up having to have a cesarean section if my labor goes too long - he doesn't want me off of the blood thinners for an extended period of time and in turn end up developing a blood clot.  Basically, this baby needs to be delivered by a certain time, whether it's via a natural birth or c-section.  So, Mama needs a quick labor!  Then again, there's a part of me that wants to have a c-section just to be safe (and also just to get it over with), but I'll leave that up to my doctor.  He knows best!  I'm in excellent hands.

I know, I know, the real fun begins once the baby is home.  Sleepless nights, sleepless days, endless feedings, and lots of snuggles.  I know she'll be worth it, but I have to wonder how I'll make it through the first couple of months with a lot less sleep than I'm accustomed to getting each night.  With Mark working nights, guess who gets to wake up with her five nights out of the week?  ME!  Thankfully, he's offered to take over for a few hours once he gets home from work so that I can get a little more sleep.  Thank you babe!  I have mad respect for the single moms out there who do everything by themselves... I can't imagine doing it all on my own.  I LOVE MY MAN!

"Everything will be all right and we'll all survive."  I just have to keep repeating this to myself and maybe I'll start to believe it!
