33 weeks!

I'll start this thing off right!

Not bad for 7 1/2 months, right?!

This pic was taken at 33 weeks and two days (yesterday) and like I've said before, I never realize how "big" my belly is until I see it in pictures!!  I have a lot of shortness of breath to show for it, but when I'm looking at it in the mirror, it never seems that big to me - but hey, I'll take what I can get!

Speaking of shortness of breath...

It is seriously a pain in the butt!!!!  I hate it.  It's my worst symptom!!  Even doing nothing at all, I feel like I can't get a nice deep breath in sometimes.  I have no actual breathing problems and my doc said this is all totally normal, but it's certainly annoying.  I'll be glad when I no longer have a small human pushing her way up into my lung space :)

Blood types!

I am blessed with having an A- blood type (which I learned is quite uncommon), so I got to take my first trip to Labor and Delivery for my Rhogam shot today!  Long story short, this shot prevents my blood antibodies from attacking my baby's blood in case she turns out to be a positive blood type - at least I think that's what happens.  Don't quote me on that.  I'd heard conflicting things about this shot... varying from it hurts like hell to it not hurting much at all.  I asked the nurses at my doctor's office about it, and they didn't do much to reassure me; in fact, one said that it felt like they were injecting peanut butter into her butt cheek.  So, of course, I was expecting the worst, but I'm a tough cookie and figured I could handle whatever they gave me :)  Fast forward to today... the shot wasn't bad at all!!  So, now I know what to expect when I get my second Rhogam shot after lil Miss Bailey is born.  Piece of cake!  Or... it was actually very painful and I really am that tough?

I would also like to add to this story by saying that walking down the hall to L & D was seriously making me anxious!  If I don't have any other complications before the time comes, then the next time I'll be heading there is when I'm actually going into labor.  Yeah, it's terrifying to me.  I keep thinking "OMG.  OMG!  OMG!!  I'm so nervous about having this baby!!"  First-time mom problems, right?  I'm scared to death of everything that is to come, but at least I'm not losing sleep over it!  Mark would vouch for that lol.

It's almost baby shower time!!

Yes, the day is almost here!  It's this Saturday, and I'm friggin' excited for it!  It's being held at a Mexican restaurant so I'll be stuffing my face with delicious cake, appetizers, and a *virgin* margarita.  I miss being able to enjoy a real margarita, so a non-alcoholic one will have to suffice for now... I wonder if there's any kind of non-alcoholic tequila flavoring that they can add to make it seem more authentic?  Ha!  Seriously though, any gifts we get will be amazing and super appreciated, but I'm really looking forward to the party :D

How am I feeling?

Pretty darn good!  Here's a list of common third trimester woes that I am luckily NOT experiencing:

  • Swollen hands, feet, and face
  • Return of nausea and/or vomiting
  • Having to wake up in the middle of the night to pee
  • Back aches
  • Leg cramps
  • Stretch marks!!  Yes!!  I hope I'm not jinxing myself when I say this, but I have no stretch marks on my stomach.  Side note:  I also don't have a "linea negra", and my belly button is still an innie!
  • Heartburn and indigestion
  • Having to waddle when I walk
  • Moodiness and crazy hormones - I think Mark is most grateful for this one!
(Yeah, I know, I'll get all of these within the next week and then I'll be hurting lol...)

Here's a list of things I AM experiencing:
  • Shortness of breath, as mentioned before, and getting winded easily
  • Having to pee frequently throughout the day
  • Not being able to pop right up from sitting on the floor (it takes a little more effort now than before)
  • Having to keep the a/c at a lower temperature than normal so I don't overheat!
  • Stuffy nose
...I know I've had it good, and I'm definitely thankful for that!

Brain fart!

This happens a lot :P  I was going to write about something else, but I'm tired and forgot what it was.  Whatcha gonna do... 'til next time!
