I'm baaaaaaaaack!
ALERT THE MEDIA!! I'M BLOGGING!!
Yes, I know, it's been a crazy long time since I've written. Every now and then I think, "I should really sit down and blog tonight," and then I forget all about it and two years go by. Such is life!
So what's happened since September of 2014?
Well...
New jobs!
- Mark got a new job with GE Transportation as a Technical Advisor in October of 2014. He's still working at the Barstow railroad hub - he just works for good ol' GE these days doing almost the same thing he was before, just with longer hours with more stress... at least he's making a little more money now ;)
- I started working too! WHAT! Well, technically I have been working the entire time I've been a stay at home mom (right ladies?!), but now I'm making some actual money. I started back in November of last year and it's FABULOUS. I work from home 20 hours a week and I don't even have to get naked for random people on the Internet. WINNING! And here's the best part: I don't have to sell anything!!
Bailey news!
- Bailey's turning 3 in a week (a week!) and time needs to slow the [bleep] down... three years have gone by so quickly. I miss when she was an itty-bitty mushy baby that fit on my chest, but the toddler years have been full of laughs and a lot of fun. As she's gotten older, her intelligence has really shone through and she impresses us daily with what she knows. Plus, I can honestly say that Bailey was a model two year old. Sure, she had her moments (like the Best Buy mini-meltdown I mentioned on Facebook), but overall she is the most easy going kid around. I hear the 3's are more difficult - we'll see if Bailey grows horns and decides that she wants to torment me until she's 30.
- In February of this year, Bailey started going to a preschool/daycare three days a week to help her get more comfortable with being around other kids her age. She definitely still gravitates towards adults and seems to prefer their company to other kids', but at least she's getting that exposure and socialization. A big downside of daycare, however, is her catching EVERY SINGLE GERM that pops up! I swear, the girl's been sick practically 90% of the time she's been there. At least her immune system will be running on all cylinders when she gets to real school!
Vlogging!
- Lately, I've become obsessed with watching things on YouTube (mainly makeup tutorials - they're like my drug), and it really makes me want to start a vlog, but then I think "Man, I hardly have time to sit down and write - would I ever have time to sit down and film a video?" I don't really care about having a ton of subscribers (in fact, I think I would feel totally awkward and weird if I had a big following), but I've been thinking about starting a channel where I talk about random things in my life. But yeah, I'm afraid it would just fall by the wayside!
Anniversaries!
- Mark and I had our 11th wedding anniversary this past March, and are looking forward to many more years together. We certainly had our challenges/rough spots/major bumps in the road but we're in a good place now. I am so glad that we waited until we were solid to bring a child into the world. Bailey is amazing, but she's a hell of a lot of work and I can't imagine trying to handle the stress of raising a child in an already stressful environment. I thank God for what He did in our relationship and, because of that, Bailey has two parents that are in it for the long haul. It's definitely a blessing. Mark, if you're reading this, here's to us!
It's late!
I'm sure there's a lot more I could talk about but it's 1 in the morning and I'm tired, and if I don't just hurry up and post this it'll be another two years before I remember to blog again. I wanted to write some big insightful post and it just turned into sort of a boring recap, but there's always next time!
So, what are you doing in your work at home job? It sounds like a great job for a Mommy.
ReplyDeleteAlmost all of us have rough spots - or at least I know we do.
That was me Konyia
DeleteHi Konyia! My official job title is Social Media Evaluator, it's sort of hard to explain but I essentially rate the relevance of various Facebook posts to a certain search topic. My work helps people get the best search results when they plug in a search topic into Facebook :) I'm so glad I found it!!
