Lent

I know, I know, I'm not Catholic, but I thought I would do a little experiment: I'm going on a fast food fast for Lent!  Today is the beginning of a healthier diet for me.  I'm a sucker for drive-thru's and think a well made Big Mac is one of the best things on the planet.  I can't help it!  They're delicious!!

Mmm...

So, in an effort to eat better and maybe lose some of the baby fat in the process, I'm going to try my hardest to not give in to the food that I crave so much.  Side note: part of me is embarrassed to admit that I love that horrible crap :P

When Easter rolls around, I hope that I don't go on a binge and ruin any progress I've made... hopefully the cravings will have gone away by that point and fast food will disgust me??

Role Model!

One of the other reasons why I'm doing this is to set a better example for Bailey as she gets older... I certainly don't want her eating Big Macs all the time and thinking that's OK.  Childhood obesity is very real and I would hate for Bailey to struggle with it just because of the choices I made for her.

No soda?!

I'm also a self-professed soda fiend and am swearing off soda for the next 40 days as well.  That includes regular and diet, so I'm really going cold turkey.

Exceptions!

These lucky places get to be on the safe list:
  • Chipotle
  • Sandwich shops/delis
  • Chick-fil-A (simply because we rarely go there and it's a treat when we do)

Extra motivation!

It's too bad that the one on the right still tastes like heaven!

So... we'll see how this goes!  It's a lofty goal but it's something I've been needing to do for awhile and now is the perfect time.  Besides, swimsuit season is right around the corner!!
